The Type 99 is far from the most popular Sniper Rifle choice in CoD: Vanguard, yet with the right attachments, it has the potential to be the most optimal long-range weapon in the game.
Vanguard players have been spoiled with the frequent inclusion of Double Weapon XP. Although some believe weapon levels are still too slow even with Double Weapon XP active, the bonus is better than nothing.
With Vanguard and Warzone Pacific Season 1 right around the corner, now is the ideal time to test out some of Vanguard's Sniper Rifles.
Here are the optimal attachments and Perks to create the best Type 99 loadout.

Best Type 99 Gunsmith loadout attachments
- Muzzle: F8 Stabilizer
- Barrel: Sakura 776mm
- Optic: N/A
- Stock: Sakura CVR Custom
- Underbarrel: M1941 Hand Stop
- Magazine: 8mm Klauser 5 Round Mags
- Ammo Type: Lengthened
- Rear Grip: Fabric Grip
- Proficiency: Vital
- Kit: Deep Breath
These attachments are meant to buff the Japanese Sniper Rifle's power and aim down sight speed. For starters, the F8 Stabilizer ensures that the Type 99 will be a highly accurate weapon. After all, Sniper Rifle gameplay depends on accuracy.

The Sakura CVR Custom Stock and the Fabric Grip work in tandem to boost this weapon's ADS speed. All of the Sniper Rifles in Vanguard boast a slow base ADS. With how fast Vanguard's Multiplayer is, you won't want to fall behind in terms of speed.
Maximizing this Sniper's bullet velocity is imperative. The faster and harder the bullet hits, the more you'll find yourself getting one-shot kills. In addition, the Sakura 766mm Barrel boosts bullet velocity, range, and accuracy. The 8mm Klauser 5 Round Mags also increase damage and range. As a result, your bullets still hit hard at a distance.

Lastly, Vital, Deep Breath and Lengthened work in unison to maximize your ability to hit one-shot kills. This is especially true as it pertains to the chest region seeing as Vital boosts damage in that area.
Some attachments such as the Magazine lower your movement and ADS speed. You may think this is counterintuitive but it is the price to pay for increased damage. Thankfully, we maximized ADS speed elsewhere to balance the results.
Best Perks to use with Vanguard Type 99
- Perk 1: Fortified
- Perk 2:Radar
- Perk 3:Tactician
Using Lethal equipment or explosives to remove a Sniper player from a power position is quite common. In other words, Fortified will ensure that you'll be difficult to displace.
Radar is great for the stationary Sniper Rifle player as they will get some indication of where to aim on the map.

The Perk 3 slot was a true tossup. Firstly, Overkill can work for the player who prefers to carry another primary alongside their Sniper Rifle. Secondly, the boost to movement speed Lightweight brings is fantastic for quickscopers. Ultimately, Tactician best suits traditional Sniper Rifle gameplay. Replenishing your S-Mine 44 or Stim is great for long-range gunfights.
How to unlock Type 99 in Vanguard
As a default weapon and the very first Sniper Rifle, the Type 99 is ready to use from the start.
Unfortunately for those who enjoy Sniper Rifle gameplay, most players are disappointed with Sledgehammer's treatment of the fan-favorite weapons.
Best alternatives to Type 99 in Vanguard
As with most CoDs, the Kar98k is an incredibly popular Sniper Rifle choice. The Type 99 certainly isn't for everyone, what with its unique scope positioning. Consequently, if you want to try another Sniper Rifle, the Kar98k is your best bet.
On the other hand, if you're looking to maintain long-range gameplay with an automatic weapon, the Automaton is a great choice.

Vanguard players sick of "overpowered" Dogs Killstreaks
The different Dogs Killstreaks are causing a ruckus in Vanguard with players desperate for Sledgehammer to nerf their effectiveness.

It's rare to have a game of Call of Duty: Vanguard Multiplayer that doesn't have at least one batch of vicious Attack Dogs or a Guard Dog. But players feel they're too strong and need to be nerfed.
Killstreaks have been a mainstay in the Call of Duty franchise for the longest time and can massively change the course of a game.
Vanguard has its own set of deadly Killstreaks that can turn the tide of war, two of which are the Guard Dog Killstreak and Attack Dogs Killstreak. Once a player reaches 6 consecutive kills with guns and equipment the player can partner up with a Guard Dog. Get 10 consecutive kills, and it's time to release the hounds.
They are well-earned Killstreaks that can reap a handsome amount of kills, but the HP of dogs seems to be huge, perhaps too much.
Reddit user Ok_Needleworker_3046 said: "Dogs are so overpowered it's a joke," and detailed their experience with a Terminator-like dog.

"I was just using the G-43 and came face to face with the single Guard Dog you can call in, it just looked at me, so I shot it 5 times in the head, point-blank," they explained. "It then just jumped and killed me and it should not take 5 point-blank headshots to kill a dog. They climb roofs, ladders, etc, complete joke."
As well as the Guard Dogs, players are also tired of the much-larger Attack Dogs Killstreak as they take too many hits to kill.
"They take 2 rockets to kill which makes absolutely no sense. Like, maybe the personal dog, sure, it's got armor so at least it looks feasible to a certain extent, but the Attack Dogs are just bare and eat high explosives for breakfast without any milk," said one frustrated player.
The thread continued to be riddled with complaint after complaint and even attributed the constant annoyance of dogs to the Dead Drop glitch.

In recent Call of Duty games, we've found that Killstreaks are barely ever changed and this will probably be the case with the different Dogs Killstreaks.

The Cooper 21" Shrouded barrel will provide the weapon with more recoil control along with greater bullet velocity. We equipped theCooper S MI optic because of the slight buff it gives to the gun's ADS speed too.
